(Jerry) Zeyan Tang

Born in China, Tang received his BA in Economics and Fine Art at Hamilton College, and MFA at Parsons in New York City. Since 2018, Tang has consistently explored in his lens-based practice the interconnectedness of culture and diaspora experience, specifically the semiology and linguistics. Probing the meanings within these structures, he captures the coexistence of multiple cultural and migration experiences, making abstract concepts tangible. The relationships between disappearance and impermanence, and presence and absence are particularly central to his practice.
